Oxygen Cylinder Rent in Bangladesh

Start with one question, because it decides everything else: how long did the doctor say?

If the answer is a few days or a few weeks, oxygen cylinder rent is almost certainly the right call. A month of rental costs ৳4,500. A new cylinder set costs ৳8,000 to ৳16,000, plus the awkward problem of a steel bottle standing in a corner of your flat once therapy ends.

If the answer is “indefinitely,” renting quietly becomes the expensive option somewhere around week seven — and we would rather tell you that on this page than collect eight months of rent from you.

Here is the break-even, plainly:

Situation Cheapest route
1–14 days of oxygen Weekly rental (৳2,500)
2–7 weeks Monthly rental (৳4,500)
Roughly 2 months or more Buy a China or Islam set outright (৳8,000–9,000)
Continuous daily therapy, long term An oxygen concentrator, with a cylinder as backup

Medical Product BD rents complete medical oxygen setups from our store in Mirpur-2, Dhaka. Each rental includes the cylinder itself, filled with certified medical-grade oxygen, plus the regulator, flow meter, humidifier bottle, and mask or nasal cannula. You rent a working system, not a bare bottle you then have to equip.

Plans run daily, weekly, ten-day, fifteen-day and monthly, across three cylinder brands — Linde (BOC), Islam Oxygen and imported China cylinders. A refundable security deposit applies to every rental, and the terms are printed further down this page rather than sprung on you at handover.

Who rents rather than buys? Families collecting a parent after pneumonia. Post-surgical patients on four weeks of prescribed support. Dengue and respiratory-season cases. Households waiting on a diagnosis before committing to equipment. Clinics and ambulance operators covering a seasonal spike. And people who simply do not yet know how long this will last — which is most people, on the first day.

Rental Plans Available

Daily rental — ৳400 (Linde ৳500) For genuine short bursts: a hospital-discharge gap, a two-day observation period, transport of a patient between cities. Worth checking the arithmetic before you choose it — see the warning below.

Weekly rental — ৳2,500 (Linde ৳3,000) The most common short plan. Covers a typical post-operative or post-pneumonia stretch. Cheaper than seven daily bookings by ৳300.

Ten-day rental — ৳3,000 (Linde ৳3,500) The gap plan, for when a week is not quite enough and a fortnight is too much.

Fifteen-day rental — ৳3,500 (Linde ৳4,000) Fortnightly cover. Popular with families whose follow-up appointment falls two weeks out.

Monthly rental — ৳4,500 (Linde ৳5,000) Best value by a wide margin. Renewable month to month for as long as therapy continues.

Portable cylinder rental Lightweight tanks for transport, stairs and short outings. Available on request — see the portable rental listing and confirm the current rate on the call.

Institutional and multi-cylinder rental Clinics, diagnostic centres, ambulance operators and nursing agencies can arrange several cylinders on scheduled terms. Rates are negotiated by volume — ring the hotline.

⚠ Never stack short plans. Thirty days booked as daily rentals costs ৳12,000. The same thirty days on a monthly plan costs ৳4,500. If therapy runs longer than expected, call and move to a longer plan rather than extending day by day — we will always tell you which plan is cheaper for the time you actually need.

Rental Terms — Stated Before You Pay, Not After

Rental terms are where this industry loses people’s trust. Ours are short and we publish them:

  • A refundable security deposit is required. The amount varies by cylinder brand and is returned in full when the cylinder comes back in working condition.
  • Collection is the customer’s responsibility. You take the cylinder from our Mirpur-2 store.
  • Return is the customer’s responsibility. After use, bring it back the same way.
  • Gas refills during the rental are billed separately — ৳500 at our counter, ৳800 with home delivery in Dhaka.
  • Damage beyond normal wear may be adjusted against the deposit, assessed openly and discussed with you before any deduction.
  • Further conditions may apply depending on rental length and cylinder type. Ask on the booking call and we will state them.

Why we work this way. Several Dhaka rental services advertise free doorstep delivery, and some quote daily rates as low as ৳250 to ৳350. Those two things rarely coexist in the same quote — delivery, collection and two-way transport get paid for somewhere, usually through a higher deposit, a VAT line added later, or a minimum booking period. Our rates carry no transport cost because we do not transport rentals, and we would rather show you that trade honestly than bury it. If collection is genuinely impossible for your household, call us and say so before booking — there may be options, and it is better discussed than assumed.

What You Get With Every Rental

  • Medical oxygen cylinder, filled and pressure-checked
  • Pressure regulator with gauge
  • Flow meter, adjustable across the prescribed range
  • Humidifier bottle
  • Nasal cannula or oxygen face mask
  • Cylinder key
  • Guidance on flow settings and safe handling before you leave the store

We check the valve and demonstrate the gauge in front of you at handover. If anything on the setup fails during the rental through no fault of yours, we swap it — a rental that stops working is our problem, not yours.

Why Families Choose Us For Rentals

  1. Published rates for every plan — daily through monthly, all five durations, no “call for price” games
  2. Written deposit terms you see before paying, refunded on return
  3. Three brands to choose from — Linde/BOC, Islam Oxygen, imported China
  4. Complete working setups, never a bare cylinder with accessories quoted separately
  5. 24/7 hotline for bookings, extensions and mid-rental problems
  6. In-house refill service at ৳500 counter or ৳800 delivered, so gas never becomes a separate hunt
  7. Honest plan advice — we move customers onto cheaper plans without being asked
  8. We say when renting stops making sense, even though the advice costs us revenue
  9. A physical store in Mirpur-2 where you meet the people handling your patient’s equipment
  10. Certified medical oxygen only at 99.5% purity or above, never industrial gas
  11. Sanitised and inspected between customers, with regulators function-tested
  12. A whole equipment range under one number — hospital beds, concentrators, suction machines and monitors if the home setup grows

Equipment Standards And Safety

The cylinders. Steel bodies, hydro-tested on schedule, with the test date stamped on the shoulder. Any cylinder failing inspection leaves the rental fleet rather than reaching a patient.

The gas. Certified medical-grade oxygen at 99.5% purity or higher, from licensed producers. Medical oxygen is regulated as a drug in Bangladesh; industrial oxygen is not the same product and has no place near a patient’s airway.

The accessories. Regulators are function-tested and gauges verified between rentals. Cannulas and masks are supplied new.

Capacity you can plan around. A standard cylinder holds roughly 1,360 litres. At 2 litres per minute that is about eleven hours of supply; at 5 LPM, closer to four and a half. Plan refills against your prescribed flow rate rather than guessing — and book the refill before the gauge reaches the red, not after.

Safety rules for the rental period:

  • Keep the cylinder upright and secured, in its stand or strapped
  • Three metres minimum from stoves, heaters, candles and cigarettes
  • No oil, grease or petroleum-based creams near the valve or on hands handling it
  • Ventilate the room — oxygen makes fabric and furniture burn far faster
  • Close the valve fully whenever therapy pauses
  • Transport upright in the car, never rolling loose in a boot

Who Rents Oxygen Cylinders

Post-operative and post-pneumonia patients on a defined recovery period. COPD and asthma patients through a seasonal flare rather than year-round. Dengue and respiratory-illness cases during peak months. Elderly patients discharged from hospital while the family decides on long-term equipment. Palliative care households needing support for a limited window. Families in Mirpur, Pallabi, Shyamoli, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Uttara, Gulshan, Banani, Bashundhara, Badda, Rampura, Malibagh, Farmgate, Tejgaon, Motijheel and Old Dhaka, plus Savar, Narayanganj, Gazipur and Tongi. Clinics and diagnostic centres covering demand spikes without capital spend. Ambulance operators needing extra units for a busy stretch. Home nursing agencies running several patients at once.

Choosing Your Plan — A Short Guide

Take the prognosis literally. Doctors give a range for a reason. Book the plan matching the upper end and extend if needed; the longer plan is nearly always cheaper per day.

Match the brand to the budget, not the anxiety. The oxygen inside a China cylinder and a Linde cylinder meets the same medical specification. Linde costs more for build quality and brand assurance, which matters most to institutions. For a six-week home recovery, Islam or China serves perfectly well at ৳500 less per month.

Count the refills, not just the rent. This is the number most families miss. Monthly rent is ৳4,500 — but at 2 LPM for eight hours a day, you will need roughly 21 refills in that month. At ৳800 delivered, that is about ৳16,800 in gas on top of the rent. Total: north of ৳21,000 a month.

Which is why we say this out loud: for continuous long-term therapy, a 5-litre oxygen concentrator costs ৳40,000–47,000 once and runs on roughly ৳3 of electricity an hour. It pays for itself against cylinder refills in around two to three months. Rent the cylinder for the short term. For the long term, buy the concentrator and keep a cylinder charged for load-shedding.

Common mistakes we see:

  • Booking daily plans repeatedly instead of switching to weekly or monthly
  • Renting a portable cylinder for continuous bedside use — portables empty in hours
  • Letting the cylinder run to empty before arranging a refill
  • Choosing a rental without confirming the deposit amount first
  • Renting for four months when buying would have cost less by month two

Brands Available On Rent

Linde (BOC) — the international medical gas standard and the brand most Bangladeshi hospitals run on. Rented at ৳500 daily to ৳5,000 monthly. Chosen mainly by institutions and families who want the benchmark name. Linde cylinders

Islam Oxygen — a long-established Bangladeshi producer, and the most common cylinder in Dhaka homes. Rented at ৳400 daily to ৳4,500 monthly, with refills available nationwide. Islam cylinders

China — certified imported steel cylinders, pressure-tested before joining the fleet. Same rental rates as Islam, and our most-booked option for home recoveries. China cylinders

Portable and mini cylinders — for mobility rather than continuous supply. Useful alongside a main cylinder, not instead of one. Portable range

For comparison, if you decide to buy instead: a China full set costs ৳8,000, Islam ৳9,000, and Linde ৳16,000. Two months of monthly rental (৳9,000) equals the price of an Islam set you would then own outright.

Market context: rental rates across Dhaka currently run roughly ৳2,500 weekly to ৳4,500–6,000 monthly, with daily rates advertised between ৳250 and ৳500 depending on brand and whether VAT is included. Our weekly and monthly rates sit at the competitive end; our daily rate is not the cheapest in the city, and we would rather you knew that and chose the weekly plan.

Rates current as of August 2026. Confirm on the call before travelling to the store.

Booking, Collection And Payment

How to book: call or WhatsApp the hotline. We confirm availability, the plan that fits your stated period, the deposit amount and the total — all on that first call.

Collection point: Mirpur-2, Block A, Road 5, House 12, Dhaka 1216. The store operates 24 hours, so collection is not restricted to office hours.

What to bring: a copy of your NID, and the doctor’s prescription if you have one. The prescription is not required to rent, but it lets us set the flow meter correctly before you leave.

Payment: bKash, Nagad, cards or cash. Rent and deposit are taken at collection; the deposit is returned when the cylinder comes back.

Extending a rental: call before the current period ends. We will move you to whichever plan is cheapest for the total time, not simply add days at the daily rate.

Refills during your rental: ৳500 if you bring the cylinder to us, ৳800 with home delivery inside Dhaka. The refill service runs 24/7 with no night surcharge.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent an oxygen cylinder in Dhaka? ৳400 a day, ৳2,500 a week, ৳3,500 for fifteen days, or ৳4,500 a month for a China or Islam cylinder. Linde cylinders cost ৳500 daily and ৳5,000 monthly. A refundable security deposit applies to all plans.

Is the security deposit refundable? Yes, in full, when the cylinder is returned in working condition. Damage beyond normal wear is assessed and discussed with you before anything is deducted.

Does the rent include the oxygen inside? The cylinder arrives filled. Refills after that are charged separately at ৳500 or ৳800, because how fast you use gas depends entirely on the prescribed flow rate.

How long will one filled cylinder last? About eleven hours at 2 litres per minute, or roughly four and a half hours at 5 LPM. A standard cylinder holds around 1,360 litres.

Can I extend the rental if the patient needs more time? Yes, and you should call rather than simply keeping it. We will usually move you to a longer plan that costs less than the extra days would.

Is renting cheaper than buying? Under about two months, yes. Past that, buying a China set at ৳8,000 or an Islam set at ৳9,000 costs less than continuing to rent — and you keep the cylinder.

Do you deliver rental cylinders to my house? Rental collection and return are the customer’s responsibility under our rental terms. If that is genuinely not possible for your household, call and discuss it before booking rather than assuming either way.

Can I rent a portable oxygen cylinder? Yes, though portables are designed for transport and short outings rather than continuous bedside supply. Most families rent a standard cylinder and add a portable if the patient travels.

What if the regulator or flow meter stops working mid-rental? Call us and we replace it. Equipment failure during a rental is our responsibility, not yours.

Can hospitals or clinics rent multiple cylinders? Yes. Institutional rentals with several cylinders and scheduled refill rotation are arranged on negotiated terms. Call the hotline with your expected volume.

Do I need a prescription to rent? No, but bring one if you have it. The prescribed flow rate is what tells us how to set the equipment and how often you will need refills.

Should I rent a cylinder or a concentrator? For a few weeks, a cylinder. For continuous daily therapy over months, an oxygen concentrator costs far less to run because there is nothing to refill — just keep a cylinder charged for power cuts.

What happens if I return the cylinder late? Call before the period ends and we will simply move you onto the correct plan. Late returns without contact are charged at the applicable rate for the extra days.

Why Customers Trust Our Rental Service

Rentals depend on trust in a way sales do not. You are handing over a deposit and taking away equipment that a family member’s breathing depends on. That transaction works only if both sides are straight with each other.

So we publish every rate rather than saying “call for price.” We state the deposit and collection terms on this page instead of at the counter. We tell customers when a longer plan, a purchase, or a concentrator would cost them less — advice that has moved plenty of people off our rental list and onto a one-time purchase.

We operate from a fixed address in Mirpur-2, staffed around the clock, and our rental listings carry verified customer reviews. Home nursing agencies and diagnostic centres use us on repeat arrangements, which is the kind of customer who leaves quietly the first time service slips.
